Educational institutions are required to file a Form 1098-T, 学费的声明, with the IRS and to provide a copy of the form to the student, for each enrolled student for whom there is a reportable transaction. A reportable transaction includes payments received, or refunds made for tuition and related expenses.

Your 2022 1098-T is also available electronically through the Student Hub to download and print from your computer by January 31, 2023.
- Log onto the Student Hub.
- Click on the “Student Profile” button under the Web Services section and log in.
- Click on the window button at the top of the page (next to MSU Denver logo)”.

Your 1098-T is also available electronically through the Student Hub to download and print from your computer. Please follow the steps below to retrieve an electronic copy of your 1098-T:
- Log onto the Student Hub.

Your 1098-T will not be automatically mailed to you. You may 在线访问1098-T at any time, but if you wish to have it mailed, simply follow the steps below:
Request a paper copy of your most recent 1098-T*
- Log in to the Student Hub 附上你的NetID和密码.

- Verify that your personal information is up to date. Make changes if necessary and repeat steps 1-3 again.

Please note:
* We will only be able to send you the most recent copy of your 1098-T using this method. You must contact us to obtain a copy of your 1098-T for any prior years.

- If you don’t already have an account with tra.maximus.com, click on “第一次学生” button at the bottom of the page.
- Enter the information required and follow the instruction provided.
Once you fill out all of the required information, tra.maximus.com will email you a temporary password; you will then need to retrieve the password from your email, and re-log in to your account to complete your registration and you will be able to retrieve your 1098-T.
1098-T税号规则
In order to provide a 1098-T to you for tax purposes, the Internal Revenue Service requires you to provide your Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to your school.
BY TAKING NO ACTION AFTER RECEIVING A REQUEST FOR YOUR SSN/ITIN, YOU ARE RISKING BEING ASSESSED A PENALTY FEE BY THE IRS!
If you have already 你有SSN或ITIN吗, you can update your account online through the Student Hub:
- Go to your Student Hub
- Click on “Main Menu” button listed under “Web Services”.
- Click on the “Personal Information Menu” tab.
- Select the “Social Security Number Change Information” link.
- Enter SSN/ITIN, then reenter it before clicking on the “update” button.
- System will provide a message verifying SSN/ITIN is updated.

如果你没有SSN或ITIN, the 1098-T is reported to the IRS regardless of your visa or immigration status.
Depending on your immigration status you may be eligible to apply for a Social Security Number. To determine your eligibility, refer to the Social Security Administration’s publication, 非公民的社会安全号码.
If you are ineligible to receive a Social Security Number, you may apply for the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
- International students who have an F-1 or F-2 visa should contact the International Student Support Coordinator, Aubrey Winbigler in International Student Support, via email (电子邮件保护) or call (303)605-5685 to inquire about filing requirements for the W-7 Form; if you do not have a social security number or ITIN number as a result of your immigration status, 联络葛瑞格·米德((电子邮件保护))寻求协助或进一步澄清.
- All foreign national students after applying for a SSN or ITIN are required to fill out the Form W-9S, but in the “Taxpayer Identification Number” field, you must write “APPLIED FOR”.
If you have received a rejection notice for you SSN/ITIN application, please provide a copy to the Bursar Office.
